A hail storm is brewing
Hailstones are forming
The phenomenon is real
Grief, like hail, is cold and compressed
Internal and external dents,
Inevitable
The extent of the damage,
Unknown
Windows of clarity come
But sadly they go
Grasping for relief
Seeking shelter
My grip feels weak
My heart starts racing
I desperately seek her comfort
My chest feels tight
The salty river flows down my face,
Uncontrollably
My tears evaporate as my heart swells
The love overpowers
And soon the sadness fades
Memories become vibrant and her legacy clear
The wheel is now ready for her to help steer
Elements of divinity
What follows is a mystery
The mysterious nature of the future excites me
The silence has been deafening
The hail storm has arrived
As solid ice balls take shape
Chunks of ice begin to fall violently from the sky
Taking out obstacles
Removing blockages
I dodge further injury as I close my eyes
I feel her warm embrace
Just like in El Paso, Texas
I am safe
Suddenly, the warmth melts the ice
As the dark clouds fade
The storm was short-lived
What was once powerful and solid
Now weak and liquified
My internal storm,
Externalized
And now, before my teary eyes,
A new landscape arises
I remain damaged but aware
My heart has softened
When it comes again
And it will
I now know where to find shelter
See, refuge is not a physical place
It's in the memories
It's in the space
Between the storms
And it is lovingly-beautiful!

Beautiful and so powerful. 🖤
Wow! Beautiful!
